Welcome to Historic Huntington Township, Lorain County

Trustees donate all Aluminum proceeds to the Southern Office on Aging to help fund Meals on Wheels.

Huntington Township is pleased to offer the Recycling Center located at

45955 State Route 162

(next to the Township hall).

Every Saturday

Hours: 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.


This center is for all Huntington Township residents and businesses ONLY that want to recycle but may not have an avenue to do so.

DUMPSTER DAYS


May 17 & 18, 2024
Hours:  9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.


Dumpster Days is for Huntington Township residents only. You will need to present your driver's license for Dumpster Days drop-offs.

The first load for a car, pickup truck, or trailer load is free. There will be a $5 charge for each additional car, pickup truck, or trailer load. A combination of either will be $5 per load, for example a pickup truck and trailer load will be $10.

No free load on larger than a pickup truck or dump truck. Larger than a pickup truck will be $20 per load. Dump truck loads will be $30 per load.

We suggest residents use the Recycle Facility more than just on Dumpster Days for a cost savings.

Huntington Township will not accept the following;
1. Tires with or without steel rims
2. Electronics; televisions, computers, printers, phones, or any electronic devices
3. Contractors scrap from jobs
4. Propane tanks
5. Any type of refrigerant

Huntington Township reserves the right to refuse all or part of your load.

Garbage Bag Pricing


$2.00 per 30 gallon bag
$4.00 for all bags over 30 gallon


Rumpke Recycling containers are light green.

Only the following Materials should be separated;

  • Aluminum cans and foil pans
  • Old engine and cooking oil
  • Newspaper and magazines
  • Clothes and shoes


Well Help Donations

While you are recycling, drop off your donations to those in need at the Well Help box in the Recycling Building.  The Township will take your generous donations to Well Help!


Paper Retriever Recycling Bins

Two metal newspaper / magazine bins are located at the Township Recycling facility. 


Fun Facts:  One Week's worth of newspapers weighs about 10 pounds and if 200 families recycle their weekly newspapers:  approximately 104,000 lbs of paper will be diverted from the landfill!  Visit PaperRetriever.com for answers to recycling questions.


Rumpke Waste Contract


Township residents who wish to contract for curb side pick up should contact Rumpke Waste at 800-828-8171 or visit their website: www.rumpke.com. Curb side pick up does NOT affect the Township's recycle center or program.
